Randomness for you since 1976
If only an irrational fear of clowns could explain away my insomnia. Faced with allergies, a bad cold and various life stresses, I only got two hours of sleep last night. Today, when I try to nap, my thoughts ricochet against the walls of my brain and keep me from resting. If I don’t get some sleep soon, it won’t be safe for me to drive to the Ruby East conference tomorrow that I have been looking forward to.
I have never had this happen before, any suggestions?
This blog is a dumping grounds for my experiences as a web developer, a parent, an artist, a writer and a human being. Maybe someday there will be something here that is worth your time, some sort of useful information or words that piece your very soul. Probably not though.

this irrational fear of clowns must be related to bad experience with a multi colored pair of pants, try to relate the fear to your couch while talking to Jebus.
Worse case, bribe the wife to drive you. Melotonin also works wonders in mass quantities but side effects might include additional fears of clowns in the IT sense.
I think.
I suggest a nice dose of happy pills and a long day off without the kids

Try taking chamomile. Try meditating or deep breathing. Good luck!

I always say hi
I hope you got some sleep and were able to drive okay. I just did an 18 hour drive back down to Houston this weekend for a funeral (13 hours on friday) and am paying for it now with a migraine, which I have never had before. I hope you were able to enjoy your conference. Tylenol PM works wonders too at helping you sleep.
