I think Diablo is a fine name for a girl dog. Or Diabla. Why not? It's probably a real word, right? For a female devil? (Or Diablita? Little female devil? Diablissima?)
My family once had a cat named Amelia Earheart. Very furry (and when a wee kitty, frequently airborne). Amelia was discovered to be a boy cat only when, with age, s/he developed some medical problems. Way too much fur involved for an accurate read on that when s/he was young. We started calling him Emilio but it didn't catch on. Instead we just used the diminutive: "Meels." Meels was a power-cat - he never fought or bitched out the other cats but somehow he ruled over them. Maybe his confused gender status gave him an advanced soul.
Hope she's okay, little rock-swallowing, gender misidentified canine.
